The House of Bricks: Part One - Revitalization?

I have to admit, when going into the House of Bricks last night, I had my reservations. I made no attempt to hide how I felt about Larson being fired, and just instantly "replaced" . It's hard to envision Steve being replaced, and I don't see Dalton doing that at all.
That said, Jim Dalton brings a sense of energy to the band that I haven't seen in the past few years. While Steve had his expressions that were amusing as hell to watch, he didn't do much to just reach out to the audience at all. Jim Dalton, however did. You could clearly see that he loves performing, and that he loves to interact with the audience however he can.
Can Dalton play? I'll give him that. He's definitely a decent musician, and, to his credit, has some pretty decent knowledge of his industry , at least from my point of view.
Did Dalton screw up? Last night not at all. I've heard rumors of him doing so, but you know what, every individual screws up at least once or twice in the first few months of their new job. Last night, he played every song, old and new, with his own twist on things.
No two guitar players will play the same song the exact same way, and it was refreshing to see Jim bring his own "style" to the show. This was just incredible.
While I am sorry to see Steve go, Jim Dalton has brought a sense of revitalization to the band that just needed to be done. To see an independent band with a guitar player that will jump out in the middle of the crowd and interact with them is just freaking AWESOME, and guess where he played a short bit of Banditos from last night? From the middle of the crowd. Talk about stunning. I WISH I could have gotten it all on video, but, the damn camera didn't work for a damn.
Anyways, that's all you get tonight. Tomorrow, more, and (hopefully) I'll have the video/audio thing figured out.
